Blue touches green

Michael Marsh

Blue touches green on the hill.

A child looks up and runs, trying to touch the shadows of the setting sun.
Her mother laughs at the golden clouds that billow over the green of the hill.

Long grass bends into a flowing river whose waves are one with her smile.
They were told there is a light that tries to catch the night.

The day turns away from both of them and the sun sets to kiss the dark.

They forget the day.

Their dreams are of a setting sun.
