The Gift I Was Given

Joseph M Marion

A gift bestowed, unseen by many eyes,
To glimpse the sacred truth beneath the skies

The gifts the Lord has scattered far and wide,
Yet veiled from most, in shadows they abide.

Eternal love, a promise pure and bright,

A beacon glowing softly in the night,
I’ve seen it shine in some of the children’s sparkling gaze, not all only select few,

A light that breaks through darkness, sets ablaze.

The world may rush, distracted, blind, and cold,
But I have felt the warmth, the grace untold

A whisper of a change that’s yet to come,
A hope that sings like heaven’s gentle drum, a frequency that's given to only some.

This gift, a sacred vision to behold,

A story of redemption, love retold,

In every smile, in every tender face,
The Lord’s own light reveals His boundless grace.

It brings me down upon my knees in awe,

With tears that flow, unending, pure, and raw

A flood of joy, true happiness so deep,
To see the world its ancient promises he will keep.

To watch it change, return to what once was,
A world restored by love’s eternal cause,

Pure and true, the vision fills my soul,
A sacred healing, making all broken whole.

So though the world may fail to see or hear,

I carry this bright truth forever near

The gift of love eternal, pure, and free,

A promise of what’s yet to come for all for those who fallow the internal thurm and drum from above.
