Anything Is Possible in the Night

Ryan Willis

Only sleep, only sleep
Can strike-through the
Bulletproof dreams that
I’m planning.

Sleep, it’s you in

Applause on the podium

Fingers-crossed for a
Hero’s fall.

When all seems right

And the path is lighted

You unleash the dark,

That which I have always feared.

See the notes by my lamp

Only legible to me

I etched in the hope

Of an endless night

Oh, sleep.

This poem sounds so final in its last lines. There are more than one form of sleep all natural but some forced. Well written
