College Is Scary

College is scary,

And to think it's a year away,

I think I'm losing my mind a little bit,

They expect me to get into the most prestigious universities, which have very limited seats by the way.

When I was younger, the dark used to scare me,

Now conversations about exams, rankings, seats , and whatnot do,

I am not at all ready,

Hell, I don't think I'm even ready for my last year of school.

All of my what ifs go unheard,

What if I don't score well?

What if I don't get into my desired college?

What if I don't even get into my desired university?

What if ? 

I don't even have a backup plan,

They won't let me have it,

Why? Because " you'll definitely make it",

' That isn't helping ' , I scream, just for it to fall on deaf ears.

The future scares me a little too much,

And I take a look around and people my age seem just fine,

It's like I'm the only one losing my mind,

It's like I'm the only one scared to leave this place behind.

And I want to scream and ask those who are older,

Did they not want to leave school too?

Was it scary for them too?

Did college terrify them too?

Or is it just me ? 

So yes, as a highschool senior,

College. Is . Scary.

The. Future. Is. Scary .
