Masked

Maplespal

I took my time to avoid the notions,
drank the liquor and the potions,
celled my thoughts to avoid remorse,
and faked empathy, the tears I forced.
I tell them that nothing is wrong,
nothing effects or affects me strong.
Stoned cold hearted outward viewed,
developed mask now feels glued.

When we live with a mask for long enough we forget who we are. A lovely write about the lives we are encouraged to live. Few have the strength to not put on the mask.
