Dog Days

Kurt Philip Behm

Monday

lulled me off

to sleep

Tuesday

arid dreams

Wednesday

turning up

the heat

Thursday

blanket steam

Friday

woke me

hotter still

Saturday

a beast

Sunday

found me

lost in thirst

Monday

— to repeat

A great catalogue of the days of the week Kurt but I thought that Sunday was for repenting. Oh I forgot for us nonchurch going folks it is Monday. A good read my friend

Kurt, this has a really effective slow burn to it…each day quietly building the sense of heat and exhaustion until the week itself starts to feel like a creature. The simplicity works very well here, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
