Longing Brighter days

Natalie Heisey

Your anger paints the devil, a portrait of dismay, Reflecting storms within you, stealing the light away. My tears, once clear and hopeful, now blackened by the pain, A cascade of sorrow, washing over me like rain.

But healing came, though scars remain, a bittersweet embrace, My eyes, once bright with wonder, now shadowed in disgrace.

I try to find the colors, but all I see is gray, Lost in the darkness longing for a brighter day.

My heart, once had passion, now its all faded away ,Numbness creeps in softly, with symphony of silence, where joy once was played

I look to the sky, where light still tries to pierce the heavy air But through a black cloud looming, its brilliance can't compare.

The darkness clings so tightly, a shadow won't release, Trapping me in memories, stealing away my peace.

Though healing came, scars still remain, a bittersweet embrace My eyes, once bright with wonder, now shadowed in disgrace.

I try to find the colors, but all I see is gray, Lost in the darkness, longing for a brighter day.

The light fights on, escaping from the solid dark tombs Until the shadows fade away, and I learn how to fly away from dark storms
