Everyone smiles at him, the busy fellow,
Going about his daily Chores:
He'll just ignore the nodding crowd
And Not Waving but Cleaning the Windows.
Lovely Man he is always cheerful
A true diamond much Rated
He must have a Heart of Pure Gold,
They stated.
Oh No No No you misunderstand me
(Adamant of being a miserable fellow)
I have no time for your admiring looks
And Not Waving but Cleaning the Windows.

- Comment from author about the poem: My take on Stevie Smiths Poam : Not Waving but Drowning. Could have the same meaning as well. Or not. Bit silly but what the Hell.

Mistaken actions lead to misinterpretations and poor responses and so society goes. A fun read
Exactly. Thank you for your Comment.
You are most welcome Kevin
I'd be adamant in his position; too much responsibility having a label like a lovely man with a heart of gold stuck on him. Too much obligation....
Cleaning windows nails the whole thing.
Never Nailed my Windows but I'll give a go.
Thank you for Reading.
There’s a wry grin behind this one—the world praising a man who’d rather just get on with the work.
Feels like a window cleaner who knows life’s simpler when you keep your hands busy and your pride quiet.
You said it all. Thank you for your message.
Good write K.
Thank you.
