Extreme

E.J. Waling

Extreme to

extreme.

Pendulum

swings.

Left,

right,

left.

Back and

forth.

Repeat,

again and

again,

over and

over.

Pendulum

extremes

breeding

discontent.

No common

ground.

Forces

marshal,

opinions

harden.

Conflict.

Push back

ensues.

Stalls,

pendulum

pushed.

Back swing,

picking

up speed.

New

momentum.

Speeding

past

neutral,

agreement.

Bang to

extreme

and back

again.

Alienation,

altercation

compromise

destroyed.

Battle lines

drawn.

Middle

ground,

denied.

Opinions

no longer

entitled,

allowed.

Agree to

disagree,

extinct.

Civilization

untethers.

This seems the cycle and people do not learn but keep doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Well written
