Dissociating Anxiety

zhangyuyouyu

The lights are on, but the shadow is unmoving on the bed

There are no blood stains

Only the tear stains on her pillow cover

She still breaths 12 to 20 breaths per minute

But her heart pumps over 100

Her eyes are unfocused

She is invisible

She is locked in a battle with the rushing waves

She tries to sing

But her voice is soft

The melody overpowers her

She tries to smile and laugh

But it comes out distorted

Everything fails

So, here she is,

Typing whatever flows through her mind without a care

And hopefully, when everything sharpens back to focus,

She wouldn't regret her words
