Wings forgotten

Carmen Luca

Inner light
squeezed tight
Love confined

Norms guide direction
Fears dictate actions
Inner peace, obstructed
By restlessness.

Born into the light
In feeble form
The flesh so tender
Too quickly changing.

The true nature
Forgotten
Outwards looking
The meaning evading.

The weight on the shoulders,
the wings’ atrophy
Grounding.

Seeing, yet blind
So grand but crippled
The truth eluding

The key is inside.

Beautiful! And indeed it is true the key is inside of each of us. We choose which door to open and what to see. A lovely write
