Dead Love

shadowbones

My mind will always be a prison

Stuck so gently

With pins and needles

So it doesn't hurt so much

Did you feel free when I was not around

Think you could go on without

Was there someone else standing ground

Am I the best you've had

Or just water under stepping stones

Illusion of soul mate is burning

And now I think it might be the end

Love lost so sweet

Petals of silky moonlight

Blood running down my fingers

Of unrequited demise

Love's lost burning embers

Ashes so light

As memories are deleted
