And he wished
just once too often ...
always failing
in refrain
That the times
would now absolve him
for a past
he hid in shame
And he wished
one final pleading ...
an attempt
to bend the reed
To a future
unforgiving
where his hopes and dreams
— still bleed

Now Kurt that sounds both musical and critical at the same time. A great sense of rhyme and meter to this one and it itself sounds musical with the beat. I like the feel of it.
Send me the score and we’re partners … 🙂
With jaz you improvise
That'll work.
Kurt, this carries a steady, quiet sorrow…wishing for absolution while knowing the past doesn’t loosen its grip. “An attempt to bend the reed” and that “future unforgiving” really anchor it. It’s that tension between hope and what won’t yield. Strong piece, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
I'm just an aging HARP player always trying to bend the next reed. Thanks Tristan.
