Alone and Free

lane.rowe

This summer I’ll go home again
Back to the town I grew up in
Back to the place that reminds me of so much
Some things were great, some things were bad
But at least I always had
Myself through each trial
When I could never just be a child

This summer I’ll go back again
Back to the town I grew up in
I’ll go see my family, and I’ll visit my friends
Go out to eat with my grandma like I used to back then

One thing I miss though
The thing I miss the most,
Was watching the sunset
In my car all alone
Yeah I could have you
And I could have them
Try to hold on to all these fleeting friends
But what good would that do
If I’m always searching for someone new?
Oh what good would that do?

What’s wrong with me
Why can’t I just be
Happy alone
Alone and free

I just wanted a best friend
Who loves me for me
But now I have found
That true friend is me
