Demons Lie Waiting

Kurt Philip Behm

Falling back

into

the abyss

of myself

The depths

stay unmeasured

a bottomless

hell

Light

into darkness

sun

into rain

Spiritual

guidance

a dying

refrain

An echoing

canyon

where fate

goes to die

As demons

lie waiting

and destiny

— cries

Nicely said Kurt I feel that I have been there several times and am always let out because it is no fun to jail a man that doesn't give a damn

My grandfather always told me ... "You never want to fight a man who doesn't give a $#iT and has nothing to lose."

Well done.Your poem revolves around an internal struggle and the confrontation of one’s inner demons. Everyone has their demons that we all struggle with.

Kurt, this hits with a dark intensity…there’s no easing into it, just a steady descent that feels internal and unavoidable. It carries weight from the first line through the last. Well done!🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
