The Game

E.J. Waling

The game.
Youth,
unfamiliar.
Unfamiliar
with the
rules.
Rules
of the
game.
No book
to read.
Explain.
Trial/
error.
Mistakes
along
the way.
Face
value
acceptance.
Complexity
unaware.
Stumbles.
Bruises.
Scars.
Scares.
Inside and
out.
Long
road
rocky.
Bends,
switchbacks.
Roadblocks.
Deception.
Lies.
Charlatans
along
the way.
Long
way
seasoned.
Songs of
Sirens
misleading.
Hard lessons
learned.
Time
created.
Clear eyed
realist.
Studies
never ending.
Much to
know.
learned.
Laidback.
Distance
kept.
Trust.
Abandoned.
Reality,
never
what it
seemed.

The greatest game on earth that of life. How could a game be designed with better precision where the contestant is not told the rules not even told it is a game and the clock is started racing against it without knowing how much time one has. Not knowing if one is playing against others as a teammate of others, who is on one's side or not. Not knowing the objective or what is permissible to obtain it. And in the end one gets to take nothing home. Well maybe bragging rights. Loved it a fave
