Is there a guide to being
“The perfect girlfriend"
Any detective can tell you the answer is everywhere
In every industrialized makeup product
Every product meant to cover all the parts of you that are
Imperfect
Is our dynamic me wearing makeup
And you believing that will be the only way i can ever truly be
Pretty
Or will you give me a step by step guide on how to love myself
For me
Makeup or not
Would you favor it if i dint wear anything at all
No more struggling to cover up
Every part I hate will soon be loved
My favorite person hiding me from the industries lies
That to be beautiful i need to be perfect
Thank you for finding the beauty in every
imperfection
I dont know how i will survive
The industry will eat me alive if you ever go
Please don't go
I want you to stay to remind me that there's beauty in every imperfection

This poem addresses the issue of imperfections and can they be loved. It begins with the issue of coverups and market sold beauty and ends with can someone love me for who I am. If a girlfriend loves industry sold beauty that can be purchased then they don't love what lies underneath. That should tell you something. Not that one can not make the best of who one is but not pretend to be something else. A poignant poem for all
Well written. Your poem revolves around the struggle for self-acceptance in a world driven by beauty standards perpetuated by the cosmetics industry. The poet grapples with the notion of being the "perfect girlfriend" while questioning the societal pressures to conform to an idealized version of beauty.
