You've changed.
It's an uncanny phrase, I want to say.
I'm told I've changed but their tone's disappointed,
Like they thought who I was at thirteen is who I am now.
You've changed.
They say it like I shouldn't have.
Like growth isn't an acceleration.
Like change isn't the outcome of all I've done.
Yes, I changed.
And dear lord, I am proud.
Because evolution will always be good.
No, change isn't always loud.
They think it's not fair to younger me.
How do I tell them, she's whispering,
'Please change, you promised me'.
Change is her way of loving me.
You've changed.
I smile at that phrase.
Hell, yeah. It took sweat and tears,
This growth is worth that pain.

Change in oneself is an extremely difficult thing to accomplish like whittling on an iron bar it usually takes a bit of heat and a hard tool. Well written
