High road

Alan R

Take the higher road

Start limping

Walk long enough

And there will be no one

To walk along with

At least not long enough

And they will tell you to

Take the higher road again

And again

Until you can’t walk anymore

And they’ll tell you

They’re not as good as you are

Praise you for your choices

Smile as you struggle

Leave you paralysed

On a high road.

Led on to beyond our capability by the wiles of those less capable. How many athletes, movie stars, artists have taken this high road and ended up paralyzed, broken and forgotten. Well written

Cold, hard truth wrapped in patience and pain—walking alone doesn’t make you noble, just heavier.
The higher road can be a trap; sometimes survival is knowing when to step off.
