Crucifixion Pending

Tristan Robert Lange

Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Friends, I’m doing my best to keep up with comments. 😅 I’m still current on my own poems and first replies on others’ work, but this season has been a bit of a twister. Figured I’d drop a quick note so you don’t think I’ve vanished or gone flaky.
Read. Write. Rise. Realize. 🤘💀🖤
You have heard it said that
Every dog will have its day;
Some—nay!—many keep it this way.
Humanity would rather sell out,
Under pretense of wise caution—
Abandoning its moral compass.

Heaven knows, it’s overdue!
A crucifixion today.

Never underestimate the power
Over reason that fear indomitably has.
Twelve plus twenty-eight, minus one.
Zero chances to get out alive—
Resurrection aside—
Is anyone going to find themselves there?

POET’S NOTE:
An acrostic Scorched Sunday poem. Part of my Scorched Strays collection. This poem confronts the pattern of moral compromise—where fear overrides truth, and humanity chooses safety over conviction, even at the cost of what is right before them.

Popeye nipped in to do that sum. He says, Answer:39. That'll be 12+28-1.lol. What? He's too busy doing sums and no spare time to glug?! lol.

    • Tristan Robert Lange

Orchidee…Popeye’s out here doing math instead of glugging? Something is deeply wrong in the universe…who signed off on this version of events? 🤣 Wait...WCAT! 🪵🙏🕯️🖤

Tristan this has great meaning in the acrostic and the time of the year. Twelve the number of apostles, the tribes of Israel, months in the year and zodiac, twenty eight the number of completion and the Lamb. Thirty nine the number of completion of trial. Thirty nine lashes given to the apostle Paul. Who is going to find themselves in such? Nicely written my friend

      • Tristan Robert Lange

Soren, I appreciate you tracing those connections…especially the weight behind the 39…trial, lashes, completion…it has a gravity that just sits with you. I'm glad the poem delivered and you saw those layers, my friend. 🪵🙏🕯️🖤

You are always most welcome Tristan

lol you my friend are just too good. 🌹

🤣 Thank you, dearest, Teddy! 🌹🪵🙏🕯️🖤

Well written, your poem revolves around the tension between moral integrity and societal pressures. It contrasts the notion of "every dog will have its day" with a grim portrayal of humanity's willingness to compromise its values out of fear and caution. The poet suggests a sense of urgency for change, calling out the complacency of humanity in the face of moral crises, symbolized by the reference to a 'crucifixion.' Overall, it highlights themes of fear, sacrifice, and the struggle to maintain ethical principles in a challenging world.

            • Tristan Robert Lange

Friendship…you nailed where this lives…that tension between what we know and what we choose…fear pressing against conviction…not dramatic, just constant…that’s the weight of it. Thank you, my friend. 🪵🙏🕯️🖤

So there I am, slowly progressing up today’s offerings… Tristan! – nah, given the time of year It will be one of his deeply Christian offerings full of questions and torture of the soul… However, as it turned out the relationship between power and conformity was something I could relate to immediately.👍😂

(Not quite '😂', but I'm sure you know what I mean...)

              • Tristan Robert Lange

🤣 Dave, I get totally that expectation…one would think that going in, for sure. This time of year kind of sets the stage for it…so hearing you still connected through that lens of power and conformity…that means a lot. Much appreciated. 🪵🙏🕯️🖤

Thanks for your complete and generous acceptance of my comment, Tristan. It warms me that you understood my position so clearly.

                • Mutley Ravishes

Who was it who said, "When it`s your time to die, you`re going to leave this world just as evil as you found it "(when you were born). Somedays I feel dragged down by it Tristan, and then there`s all the "evil" residing in me, ffs! The words Of Manjushri regarding this give me great comfort.
