I hope I don’t see them again:
I dropped out when I was seventeen, not because I didn’t want to go, not because I hated the course but because of the people I surrounded myself with.
I dropped out at seventeen because people liked drama too much, because people liked the sound of voices echoing as they argued, I dropped out at seventeen because people liked bullying others on social media and I was too sensitive and too weak to fight back.
I dropped out at seventeen because my narrative was altered and filled with lies from another’s mouth. At seventeen, I vowed that I wouldn’t let someone else, anyone else control my life.
At seventeen I learned I needed to stop caring about what other people think about me, because at the end of the day my life shouldn’t halt because of something they’ve said.
Now I’m two months from 18.
I dropped out when I was seventeen, not because I didn’t want to go, not because I hated the course but because of the people I surrounded myself with.
And honestly?
I hope I never see them again.
Even if it means I have no friends.
