Under the knife

Princess Osariemen Aihie

Every girl wants a perfect body

A curvy body;

A straight spine

An hourglass shape

A derrière so bouncy

So they go under the knife

just to please a man;

an absolute complication

so attractive at early age

At 60 looking disgusting

Some can’t sit

Some body botched

Using to cause distraction

Some die at the process

Family mourning;

a death of a future mother;

A daughter

A sister

i ask

which do you prefer

Is it a pancake?

or a problematic derrière?

    Well written this poem takes on the plastic surgery industry and might as well take on makeup and fashion. In a world of vanity we sell our bodies and souls. Nicely told in this poem. Lovely
