CLEAR MORNING

Durdica Porobija

When I had time
When mornings weren't hectic
Tied up in a knot of obligations
A clear morning would knock
On the window pane
Retreating with laughter
Hide behind the lilacs
Returning on tiptoes like a ballerina
Directing the sun's rays to the ceiling
Playing with light and shadows
Waking me up and whispering in my ear
Something good will happen to you today
Maybe we'll make sweets
Maybe we'll extract honey
We'll take a boat ride
Maybe the strawberry is ripe
It was so clear that it had all the prerequisites
For vertical mobility in the school system
But it didn't want to skip classes like a screwball
Because of crystal games
And today, after all these years
I'm waiting for a clear morning
To swing the flower curtain
It's more and more often gone
In its place by the window
A leaden ominous cloud stands
And it doesn't breathe, it's just gray and hazy
When it laughs exceptionally, I turn pale
I'm still waiting for a clear morning
I hope it hasn't forgotten me
That it hasn't become ossified and senile
And I expect that today
Something nice will happen to me

So nicely presented as a playmate gentle and playful the encouragement felt in its positive attitude. Nicely expressed Durdica
