historians barely understand
the present in front of them
yet they are experts of the past?
I’ve done some stupid things
the context has to be understood
even I don’t understand why I done it
I’ve done some intelligent things
and if all is good, then who cares
but even I stop caring after achieving
we live in a world that loves artificial
fake sex, fake food, fake love,
people perform for themselves
I am not saying I am perfect
I believe in ethics, morals, principles
still… I get angry, spiteful, hateful
human experience
are you surprised? fool!
I’m just like you!
the birds, bees, cats and dogs
cannot read! who’s this art for?
you! and me!
the mountains block my sunrise
the sunrise blocks my vision
my vision blocks understanding
so I enjoy the grandness 🏔️
I enjoy the warmth 🌄
I love wisdom ♾️

Deep thoughts my friend nicely outlined in poetic form. As for me I write for myself. A fave
Thank you Soren I appreciate you. Even though you write for yourself I’m glad you still share with us..
You are most kind and also most appreciated. You are welcome Demar
Your poem is a wild ride, calling out the absurdities of life and society while embracing raw human emotions. It's like you're screaming truths . The contrast between seeking wisdom and getting blocked by life's distractions is real 😊. Very well written!!!
Thank you Salvia and welcome back to MPS
Amazing write... truly thought-provoking. I especially empathized with the part about not learning from our histories... It's something I've been thinking about quite a lot recently myself
I appreciate you Abdullah… I too have been trying to understand history, trying to avoid the mistakes of the past. Sometimes I forget to give myself grace for when I do repeat history but nonetheless I hope you are enjoying these precious moments of life as well. Thank you for taking the time to read my work. It means a lot
Demar, my friend, I resonate with that tension…knowing what you value, and still not always living it cleanly. That gap between intention and action…yeah, that’s human. This speaks. Strong piece, my friend. Definitely a fave. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Always appreciate you bro ♾️🤟🏽
Right back atcha, bro! Most welcome!
This was so intriguing Demar. I love how you captured emotion and the sort of cause and effect rhythm you had going on. That second to last line really stuck with me, it gives extra layers to the poem of how you can seek wisdom but natural things can stand in the way.
Sometimes it feels like my biggest obstacle is people! Yet that is where most wisdom comes from, as much as I love to talk to the trees; they don’t really know how to hold a conversation lol. Thank you for noticing the rhythm, i was out of my comfort zone for this one which makes me a little more emotionally driven. You have good eyes Allie.
People definitely can make things a lot harder! I think you did a great job, sometimes our best poems come from being uncomfortable.
