Walking in the dark

William Hromada

Footsteps echo on the empty street,

Moonlight drips like silver on wet stone.

No stars tonight—just shadows at my feet,

And whispers in the wind I walk alone.

Each breath a secret, every step a dare,

The night unfolds its velvet, endless cloak.

I chase the silence, lose myself somewhere,

Where fear and wonder wear the same black coat.

This wears a coat of sophistication and flare. Nicely done and excuse my blather for I have been traveling for two days without rest.
