Strangers

Emperor

Once we were close, now close as strangers

I'd have said what i wanted, but knew of the danger

Loss was a fear, despite a desire to confess

You were more than a friend but i could not profess

Now days turn to years, one after the other

You probably forgot, and fell for another

Maybe some day fate will persuade her

To be more than my friend, be more than a stranger

There seems to be fear and jealousy in this poem that speaks of another. There is confusion as to which will become the lover. Well done
