One Wedding Rassian Romance

Ksey_Gan

Carriages converged upon the church -

A lavish wedding was held there.space;

All the guests were sumptuously forth,

And joy, oh, joy lit up their boon faces.

 Beside the church a carriage stood:

A lavish wedding was taking place there;

All the guests were finely dressed good,

But the bride was fairer than them mere.

She wore a gown of the purest white,

A wreath of roses pinned within her hair;

Upon the holy crucifix, little shy,

She gazed through a rainbow of tears.

The wedding candles burned bright,

Yet the bride stood pale and still;

To the priest, the solemn vows not right,

She had no desire to speak.

When the priest placed upon her finger

The golden wedding band place,

From her eyes, bitter tears eager

Streamed down in rivulets across her face.

I saw how a pale blush lithely

Slightly covered the young face,

When the priest put promptely

A gold ring on hir finger like  spice.

I heard the crowd around me murmur:

"The groom is such an unsightly man;

He would ruined this maiden all in mournt”.

And so, I followed the crowd outside then.

    This sounds like an old fashioned wedding that had been arranged. Nicely described in vernacular of the day
