My Old Oak has Fallen

Teddy.15

Go gently into the light

go gently into the light

my darling father
you are loved on both sides

so go gently into the light

waiting for you are a family already there

have no fear darling father
go into the light

they will be waiting at the gates

and there, they will all cheer.

My condolences Teddy. This poem reminiscent a bit of Dylan Thomas and Do not go gentle into that good night. It feels calm and loving and most reassuring. Well done Teddy

Thank you my dear sorrenbarret, I was supposed to fly home tomorrow to spend one last night with him but it just wasn\'t to be, I got to say goodbye last month and I\'m so very grateful for that. Big hugs and thank you, I love Dylan Thomas\'s poem, I thought it was do not go raging, I\'m going to go and read it. Thank you for always being so special. πŸ’œ

      Poem by Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,
      Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Such beauty in this poetry and I myself will go raging!

      • Tristan Robert Lange

Dearest Teddy, this is tender from the first line…there’s a softness here that carries all the way through. It feels like something spoken in a quiet room, meant to comfort more than explain. That tone holds steady and true. Well done! πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

Gentle as he was very frail by the end, but the strongest of Men, thank you my dear Tristan. πŸ’œ
