a very powerful poem. You painted an imagery that conjures feelings of confusion and darkness. Words like "murkiest" pond," and "coffin" suggest heaviness and stagnation, which complements the theme of struggling with one's thoughts, in which we all can relate. Your poem speaks to me so loudly, revolving around the complexity of the human psyche, the murkiness of thoughts and feelings, and the desire for clarity or movement in life. The imagery of water and consciousness indicates a deep connection between one's mental state and the external environment. Hang in there cause you hit it right on now to get through the murkiness! And you will free yourself.
Friendship…thank you, seriously. This one came from a pretty deep place, so hearing it landed like that means a lot. You really got the weight of it. I very much appreciate you, my friend. ⚰️🌑🌀🙏
I've read this a few times, darkness, much darkness but I'll pull you out of the pond and take you for a Guinness 💜
Teddy, I love this…darkness and all, you still show up with a way out and a drink in hand 😄 I’ll take it…Guinness Zero for me anymore, but seriously, that stuff is a miracle in how legit it tastes. Thanks for pulling me out for a bit…means more than you know, my friend. Cheers 🍻 ⚰️🌑🌀🙏
Ooh, I can't think dark for too long - can't see a thing 'ere! lol.
Good write T. We wish Popeye & Co would take a carriage out of town, but they never do! lol.
Orchi…haha, yeah careful now…stay in there too long and you’ll need a lantern and a priest 😄 Glad you popped in though…someone’s gotta keep the light on while the rest of us wander. ⚰️🌑🌀🙏
Darkness through the light, though the light seems dull.
Everyday for months seem dark, and getting darker.
As humans we push on, just no other way.
Onwards and upwards to you.
Paul…yeah, I feel this. That kind of slow, creeping dark where even the light feels worn out. But you’re right…we keep moving. No other way through it. Appreciate you saying that. ⚰️🌑🌀🙏
That there is a pathway inward implies that there must be one outward as well. All punctures go both ways although the current may be stronger in one direction. The darkness and murkiness implies not only stagnation but filth, decay and the putrid. I have been in such waters before both literally and metaphorically. The idea of push invokes two thoughts the pushing of a floating coffin inward planting death within and the opposite the push of birth expelling the coffin fetus outward rejecting death. A poem with much meaning my friend
Soren…this is one of those comments that makes you pause. You went all the way in on it, and I appreciate that. The inward/outward tension you pulled out…yeah, that’s right in the marrow of it. Means a lot, my friend. ⚰️🌑🌀🙏
Most welcome Tristan
Self-propelled? 🙏🏻🕊️
Arqios, that’s such a simple question, but it opens everything up…are we pushing, or being pushed? And honestly…it definitely depends on the moment. I love that you dropped that right into the middle of it. Thanks for that, my friend. ⚰️🌑🌀🙏
It's the reading mind that does tricks so one has to flow with it. Trust is also self-ward and poem-centric 🤩🕊️🙏🚶♀️➡️🌷
Heavy, deep and dark. Not sure I totally understand the meaning/message but your work is always above average. Sorry I can't give the depth and detail you offer on my work.
Katie, truly…don’t even think twice about it. You connected with it, you shared what you felt, and that’s all that matters. There’s no scoreboard for depth here…just two poetic friends sharing what we see in each other’s poems. I’m just grateful you took the time to read and respond. Means a lot. ⚰️🌑🌀🙏
