Hey snooty lady..

NafisaSB

Hey snooty lady –

Nose in the air

Foundation on face,

Gel in the hair

You never, ever, want

To share the lift with others

Unless they are your own

Real blood brothers..

When we invite you

You turn away your face

Are we untouchables

Much beneath your race??

Now you are young

One day you will age

You may stick out your tongue

But Fate will steal a page !!

What is it

Tell me

That annoys you so

Do you think they are low?

Or they did not bend and bow?

Why do you shun

The folks whom you meet

Are you scared of mingling

Or of people stamping your feet?

Is it that they do not match your passion

To be dressed in the latest fashion ?

Are they too small

Or are you too big

They eat simple food

While you chomp on a fig…

You share on facebook

Your various NGOs

To celebrate your generosity

You strike a lovely pose!

A day will come though

When you will find that you need

All those whom you shun..

When you start hobbling

And can no longer run

You’ll reach out to them then

In sorrow and despair

But none around you

May ask you how you fare

So land down now on earth

Don’t fly up in the air

Do not frown and pout

And your insecurities bare

Give  - and you shall get

Learn to share and care… I swear I’m so tired of “ladies and gentlemen” these days… I don’t want to give up hope but it’s crazy the audacity of some of these folks.. sigh rant aside I love this poem

    • NafisaSB

thank you - i know i have over-used the 'share and care' motto, but honestly, some folks have no concept of what the words 'good manners' mean...i too can rant on here...

A well imaged write that exposes the painted insecurities of the vain and judgmental. Nicely written

      • NafisaSB

        thanks - spoken from experience...

        • sorenbarrett

          You are most welcome

Oh so you live in a gated area, wow certainly a class of special people 🤭 in London I used to work in these environments and yes as sad as it is they are a different mentality depending on their wealth, those who choose in any case because I've worked all my life with rich women and most have been fabulous kind and generous. 💜 We are all the same in the end 💜

yes, since 2019 we have shifted to Crescent bay in parel mumbai [ you can google it] and have been surrounded mostly by friendly and helpful people esp. during Covid we got lots of support being senior citizens - and yet, there were and are some snooty types too, whom we too ignore...

            • Teddy.15

Yes stay clear always of the hooty snoots, we have them here too. 🤗

Safina, this comes through strong and direct…calling out that gap between how someone presents themselves and how they actually treat people. There’s real frustration behind it, but also a push toward something better…to actually care, not just appear to. That balance works. Powerful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

thanks - it is frustrating when we encounter such people but learnt to control myself, and ignore them too iif they do not reciprocate our smiles...

Enough to make you antisocial if you have too many like that in a closed community..... Sure she's not just shy??

                • NafisaSB

we are not going to be influenced by their antisocial behaviour - we smile - and if ignored, try to look through them also next time we see them [lol]
one can make out the difference between shy and snooty for sure here...

                  • Doggerel Dave

Don't let it upset your digestion😜

                    • NafisaSB

i forget them as soon as we pass them - they do not deserve a second thought from me..
and the hot spicy food in restaurants here is enough to play havoc with the digestion - whenever we dine out..
so am happy in my own small world, with my select circle/s who live life each day to the fullest possible

                      • Doggerel Dave

You telling me you can't take a Vindaloo? I'm lost for words! Who did you say....Where did you say...😂😊
