Many people can hold anger
Few can let it go
Forgiveness is a gift for the giver
Giving away love never made anyone poor
Returning this gift never hurt anyone's feelings

A very good write my friend and a message to us all
Thank you so much for the read and comment Norman I appreciate it very much
most welcome
Human kindness, empathy, compassion and those who show it rarely even need it back as it is done without thought so that's why it works as they don't expect it, they are unselfish souls. as usual your poetry is beautiful and always worth gold. 🌹 💜
Thanks so much Teddy for your read and comment it is always most appreciated
This is powerful and full of truth. We offer forgiveness and the gift is ours in return.
Such an important life lesson. We do so often hang on to the anger. Letting it go
is freedom. Have a fantastic weekend.
Thank you so much Katie for your read and understanding words they are deeply valued
Beautiful! Over the years I’ve learned that to forgive is to forego the insurmountable weight of offence 🕊️🙏🏻
Thanks so much Cryptic yes it is so true
Most welcome dearest friend 🕊️🙏🏻
Powerful words. Your poem deals with emotional resilience, the nature of forgiveness, and the transformative power of love. Your teaching helps readers to reflect on their experiences with anger and forgiveness, encouraging a positive outlook on interpersonal relationships.

Kindness never hurt anyone. Wonderful poem Soren.
Thanks so much Allie for your supportive words they are most appreciated
Soren, this comes through with a quiet kind of clarity…no extra weight, just truth laid out plainly. That idea that forgiveness gives something back to the one offering it really anchors the whole piece. It’s simple, but it sticks...and sticks well. Beautifully done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thank you so much Tristan your words mean a great deal and are deeply appreciated my friend
From one story:
— Kyndrat! Enough shaking your balls there! Come here and teach this little moth how to take a punch!
— Listen, little moth. If you’ve already come here at this hour, why would you just sit around?
— You, old Kyndrat, must have been a pretty good boxer back in the day.
— You’re right. At this hour I become a real fighter. I am Forgiveness.
— Yeah. And I guess you know how to avoid pain in painful things…
— You don’t. Live the pain. Feel what you feel.
— And then?
— The only evil you can defeat is inside you. It doesn’t matter how it got there.
— Okay. I felt the pain. I defeated the evil in myself. How do you defeat it, by the way?
— By fighting.
— And then?
— You must also know that a human is not their evil—there is something else there. Forgive not the evil, but the person. There is more than just evil in them.
— And what else?
— Something else.
— What does that look like in practice?
— A few words. A small presence. One great leap into the abyss.
Thanks
Words of Wisdom. A Good Poem.
Thank you Kevin
Very true message
The difference between forgiving and accepting is letting go.
And this would could use a little more love
Thank you so much for the read and comment it is most appreciated
Somehow I missed this (time zones and all).
The word forgiveness is fine, but what does it mean? Something delivered to the transgressor? Do they deserve it? Where does the anger go? Not internalised, it is better out there until it dissipates.
The honest truth from myself Dave is that long ago I found as a selfish person that I did not like punishing myself and I found that by assuming that people do the best they can with what they have to work with frees me from anger and the need for forgiveness. Pity is a formidable weapon
Certain amount of confusion there, Soren from my POV.
The assumption that 'people do the best they can with what they have to work with' is demonstrably untrue unless you are working with a very cockeyed definition of the word 'best'. Their best can demonstrably damage others. So you never need to forgive because you have never been intentionally harmed by a malevolent actor? And 'pity' can go out with the next garbage collection.
Further, the dissipation of the anger at a wrong inflicted can largely be facilitated by a squaring of the ledger (there you go -there's a nice metaphor for yer LOL.)
You are right Dave my definition is cockeyed by your and most peoples point of view. I see people as a product of biology and the limits it gives us and the environment (learning, pressure, etc.) Because of this I see no real free will that we are all products of what we inherit and what nature has taught us and what choices we perceive at the moment. To me free will is an illusion.
All bad actors in the world are bad actors because they have no choice? Give up.
Simple words with great impact. Very well written!!!
