nothing to do, everything to be done

DeadRose

Notice of absence from DeadRose
Time travelling. Will be around sporadically.
(check out my collections if you want a quick look at my poems)

I don't know what to do with my life

I've got all these unrealistic dreams

floating in my head, they are just dreams

i'm no action person,

though I often do before I speak

so here's another reason why

i'm paradoxical

I want to be a scientist

I want to be a detective

I want to enact global policy change

I want to have my own art show

I want to figure out peoples brains

I want to be a lawyer

I want to be an author

I want to be the best rock climber

I want to be an actor in my favorite show

I want to teach

I want to play the electric guitar on stage

I want to travel the world

I want to stay home

I want to go to space

I want  so much...

but I do so little

Perhaps I really want to be a dreaming poet.

I have a feeling that today it, for many people, is much harder to achieve any of those ambitions than it was say fifty years ago. But don't let that discourage you..... onward!

    • DeadRose

Maybe, since everything seems so hyper specialized. Thank you for the read and encouragement.

Plus the political landscape has deteriorated...

I hope all goes well for you.

A lovely write that echoes the ambitions of many but the accomplishments of few due to lack of devotion and effort. We all have grown lazy with technology and easy lives. Nicely written
