Absolute Power Corrupts

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

A lifetime of hurt equating to about 66 cuts,

I just want to go outside and feed the ducks,

Some dogs are nice and friendly, not all mutts,

A rollercoaster of fear without any open books,

Televised daily dread, absolute power corrupts,

Awake and aware that most are not playing fair,

I'd never fuck others over to get ahead, I swear,

A dragon been unleashed and we stuck in it's lair,

Look at the direction Earth heading in, you care?

Dang it, who's that impersonating....... we know who. Or trying to look like him?! lol.

Foreboding this poem warns of political corruption through too much power. Well said

Absolutely. Shaun… this carries a raw honesty…no filter, just everything right there. That contrast between wanting something simple and the weight pressing in gives it real tension. I’ve felt that pull myself, and you brought it through clearly. Strong piece, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
