Friendship

Monday

The coffee cools within the cup,
The sun climbs slow to wake us up.
The weekend ghosts begin to fade
Into the plans that must be made.

The inbox blinks its steady light,
Displacing dreams from Sunday night.
A heavy breath, a measured pace,
To meet the week and find our place.

The streets are loud with rushing feet,
Where duty and the heartbeat meet.
Yet even in the gray routine,
A quiet hope remains unseen—
For though the morning starts the climb,
It’s just a beat in spinning time.

Friendshipโ€ฆ this carries that steady transition into the weekโ€ฆquiet giving way to responsibility without any rush. It feels real and familiar, like stepping into something that just keeps moving. You held that balance really well. Beautifully done, my friend. ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›

Why must everything have a beginning and an end? External forces drive us to live within the norms of society. Your poem raised these questions as I read it. Got me to think why everyone hates Mondays. Then you closed with the answer, "spinning time." The clock is ticking, time to respond. These days I hardly know what day it is, but I surely know the end is coming, It's a beautiful sunny Spring day here, why worry about tomorrow? -Phil A.

A most fun read that is upbeat and perfect for a Monday morning. The rhyme itself carries on on their way in a cheerful mood. Nicely done Friendship
