Tristan Robert Lange

Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Friends, I’m doing my best to keep up with comments. 😅 I’m still current on my own poems and first replies on others’ work, but this season has been a bit of a twister. Figured I’d drop a quick note so you don’t think I’ve vanished or gone flaky.
Read. Write. Rise. Realize. 🤘💀🖤
So you, over there,
Presume to tell me

Over here

What will work,
What will be good

For me?

And you
Know this how,

Exactly?

Love it! How does someone else presume to know what's best for me. I am the only one that knows what's best for me. I don't need outside input. It is most insulting when someone tells you what's best for you. Well done and a fave!

    • Tristan Robert Lange

Katie… Yup! I hear you…that’s exactly the kind of tension this pushes on. There’s something about that presumption that just doesn’t sit right...like ever. If I ask, fine...but otherwise...yeah. Really appreciate you stepping into it like this. ⚖️🔥🖤🙏

Great message, written brilliantly. I think i might just memorize this poem and use it sometime, exactly as is. With the pauses and everything.😅😇

      • Tristan Robert Lange

Abdullah… haha, please do…especially with the pauses…that’s where it really breathes. I love when something gets carried like that, so it means a lot you’d even consider it. Appreciate you, my friend. 🧠🔥🪞🙏

        Wisdom?

        • Tristan Robert Lange

My friend… yeah, that’s a loaded word…depends on how it’s carried, I suppose. I think wisdom sees the limits of its own knowing, when to speak and, even then, how to listen. Or it at leasts asks this question, can we really know a person (or what\'s best for them) without having lived a second of their lives and experiences? Of course, the nuance is that sometimes people do have wisdom and insight on other people's lives, but that almost always comes through deeper relational connections. Anywho, always appreciate you stepping in and adding depth to the conversation. ⚖️🔥🖤🙏

A powerful statement, your words focus on the dynamics of communication and the frustration that arises when one individual tries to impose their beliefs or understanding on another. It raises questions about knowledge, authority, and the subjective nature of experience. I love how some people presume to know what is best for me! We live in a world where others think their way is the best, yet they could never be open-minded to others.

Friendship… I appreciate that…you’re right on it. That frustration of someone stepping in (usually uninvited) like they know what’s best…that’s the tension running through it. I’ve felt that too, so it means a lot you connected with it this way. ⚖️🔥🖤🙏

            • Friendship

              You're most welcome, my friend

Exactly? Lounge seat directors, backseat drivers, legislative backbenchers, bleacher coaches….

              • Tristan Robert Lange

arqios… haha, yeah…you just named the whole lineup. It’s a crowded field out there. 🤣 Appreciate you, my friend. ⚖️🔥🖤🙏

Likewise! They be heavy on the shoulders that mob🙏🏻🕊️

Doh! One has sneaked in again - clue: glug! Popeye says he knows exactly what is best for him, but WCAT, we can't say what it is! heehee.

So many presumptions based upon how we feel not how others feel. Nicely done Tristan
