O My God , If Not Me Who Will..

Selvaraj

Notice of absence from Selvaraj
Love thy self.

Oh mind, what tongue do you speak?
Poet, sage, yogi, mystic—
songs you’ve sung, visions you’ve seen,
read, understood, culture grown within. We cannot fathom who you are,
the human race is your own thought,
where do you dwell, how do you appear?
your form and essence remain unknown. In this broken world we stand,
where love, ties, and sins entwine,
we search for a path to live anew…O Sangam Tamils of the five lands!
O poets! O bards of the Kavi Naanuuru!May our nation and our homes be blessed,
may land and water never cease their bloom.
Hasten, go as messengers to the Chief Minister! Will you not go as messengers to the Chief Minister?Guard the five elements, the five senses,
watch, protect, again and again—
Kurinji, Mullai, Marutam, Neithal,
and Paalai—shield them, keep our culture safe.Lay down rivalry, envy, and strife,
oh mind, help me reach the splendid shore.
Mountain, river, pond, and pit,
let kolam bloom, let life flourish once more.
