Field Stripped

Fränz Müller

I am ashes

consumed by the fire in your eyes.

I am in your hands, in your mouth

but never in your heart.

I stand before you unveiled, exposed

stripped down to my primordial core

my mask, shattered

my hopes for a graceful exit

smashed.

Exposed and vulnerable are the elements. I read in this poem nicely written.
