Choices of when and where

sorenbarrett

Driving down a one way road
No directions given to deliver your load
Without signs on buildings or street
No time given when we are to meet
If not delivered in a timely fashion
People will starve without a food ration

Great write. If you could just tell me where to go exactly, it would save me some brainpower wouldn't it?

            • sorenbarrett

It is the lack of specificity in instructions that leads to anxiety and confusion. Thanks so much for the read and comment it is deeply appreciated

To me, this is life. We are on one path, we don't know where we are going and no one gives us directions. We are on our own to figure out the destination and it's important we get there in a timely manner.

                  • sorenbarrett

Thank you Katie for your review and interpretation it is most appreciated

Gritty and urgent—pressure building with no clear way out.
The tension rides hard, duty pushing forward against the unknown.

Great title for this poem. Soren…that lack of direction…no signs, no timing…that’s what really drives this. It keeps everything unsettled in a way that lands. Well done. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

The one-way road is a symbol of time and fate. It permits no return, offers no alternatives, and leaves no room to stop. Powerful writing!

The Idea of frustration in other areas of life comes through in this. Important decisions being held up.
                                Good one.

I feel this is much deeper than appears on first read and could be interpreted in a few ways. For myself i connect it with the trauma and conflict that is thriving round the world at the moment and the the thousands of people who are genuinely being driven down a one way road, wonderful write, pleasure to read.

Both timing and proper directions are necessary or it will be traumatic when delivery cannot be made though items are available
This is the scenario that’s also prevalent in war zones 🤔😔
