Lightning Match

Matthew R. Callies

Whistle,

Game ignites fast,

Feet fly,

Balls roll,

Moments vanish like quick sparks,

Crowds cheer loud.

Passes,

Dashes, tackles,

Hearts pound,

Eyes sharp,

Every second counts for glory,

Time runs short.

Goal!

The score leaps high,

Cheers roar,

Fans jump,

Half-day matches burn like fire,

Victory nears.
