Nothing Left to Break.

Gurpreet Kaur

Notice of absence from Gurpreet Kaur
Taking a little break, but my thoughts are still writing stories.

He said
I only call him
when I need money.

And for a moment,
It broke my heart.

Not loudly,
just a small, quiet crack
somewhere inside me.

But then I remembered…

He broke it a long time ago.

So this time,
it didn’t shatter.
It didn’t ache the same way.

It's just…
sat there,
heavy, familiar,
almost expected.

And I realized,
maybe it doesn’t hurt anymore
not because I’m okay,

but because
there’s nothing left to break.

One becomes accustomed to things but the best is when one has nothing to loose. Well written

Thank you 🤍 I think that’s exactly it… you get used to the hurt until it stops feeling like loss.
