JEWELS

Carlos Alberto BUSTILLOS

JEWELS

Jewels for love,
for us,
for our love,

precious, so precious,
beautiful settings
upon our chests.

On our skin, gold,
rubies, shining gems,
diamonds, colored beryls,
silver to make us beautiful.

Caresses upon us,
great topazes.
Sea aquamarines,
all to make us lovely,
to help us feel better,
to give, for us,
they grace our lives.

Stones that are gifted to us,
cufflinks to dress ourselves,
chains to embellish.

Moments to show ourselves,
to be something and much more.
Jewels for those beautiful days.

Moments to feel better,
in the company of our jewels,
to adorn those brighter days.

Great topazes to shine uniquely,
everything money can buy: jewels,
to be as we wish to be, jewels of life.

Instants to boast in the beauty of living,
moments to wrap ourselves in the luxury of loving,
among precious gems to make us feel well.

Jewels come in many forms from mineral to special people to poems and each can be a jewel. Lovely Carlos

Thank you for your beautiful words.
I’m glad my poem could be seen as one more form of a jewel —
those that shine not only in minerals, but also in people and in the moments we share through art.
Your appreciation adds its own sparkle.
