A Single Twist

gray0328

the door knob waits in silence

its brass spine polished with care

holding the weight of our lives

as if it knows every secret

a single twist—

and the world is reshaped

a gateway to freedom

or a cage closing

its grip is careful yet firm

guiding us with soft authority

how many dreams has it contained

how many tears has it ignored

we don’t thank it enough

this quiet guardian of our chaos

yet it listens to every argument

and feels the tremor of every goodbye

when my hand falters on its surface

i am reminded of its loyalty

the unnoticed comfort in its steadiness

the small things that keep us moving

Well written. Your poet, presumably reflecting on personal experiences and emotions tied to everyday objects.
