Knock, knock it said

Cindy

Something’s knocking.

Maybe it’s just my head.

I swear I hear it knocking.

Knock, knock, it said.

Whisper after whisper,

As they run throughout my mind.

I could hear their violent stomps.

I could feel them running down my spine.

The conversations up ahead,

Replay, replay them all again.

All the expressions on their faces,

The shadow’s each and every friend.

All the memories and the moments,

As they all come flooding in.

Take all the space up in my lungs,

The water high up to my chin.

Two people talking,

Two voices in my head.

Just each with its own mind,

And calls the other misled.

Drown into the darkest depths,

Of philosophy’s bittersweet regrets,

That call upon the empty lands,

Where silence hides its quiet threats.

Knock, knock, it goes.

Hollow echoes in my ears.

Time for bed, it says.

Says the pillow drenched in tears.

Doesn't sound like a happy place to me. I hope you can resolve either alone or with professional help, the mental state you are in.

Here is fear and pain well expressed with some good lines. Nicely done in rhyme
