He never really left.

Gurpreet Kaur

Notice of absence from Gurpreet Kaur
Taking a little break, but my thoughts are still writing stories.

26th May, 2019

That day,
something inside me changed forever.
The world went quiet,
like the air forgot how to breathe.

My grandpa,
my favorite person,
left this world,
yet somehow
he never really left me.

In every kind word I speak,
in every moment I choose love over anger,
I feel him,
guiding me, quietly.

I miss his voice,
his hands,
his calm presence…

but I know
he’s still watching me grow,
smiling from somewhere
I cannot see.

He taught me a love
that never ends,
and even now,
That love still holds me.
