Bougainvillea's Love

Sree

Have you ever seen

The eternal love of bougainvillea?

A tree that creates such beautiful flowers,

Like a girl dyeing her hair purple in colour.

Have you ever felt the way it moves?

It does nothing, yet our eyes get soothed.

The love that it makes for us,

I’m sure you can blindly trust.

Have you ever smelled its love?

Though it doesn’t have any fragrance,

The colour of it is so intense!

You can only feel it through your soul,

Otherwise, it will make you a fool.

You can give it your love,

It will surely give it back, full of charm.

Ahh! Its love will never fade

Until nature itself destroys it.

Nicely written it equates nature and this plant with a sign of love. Well done

I know - so beautiful and so richly full of colour, I draw closer full of barely contained excitement, and find she's a thorny witch...

    Enjoyed your poem nevertheless.
