Tryst On Fire

Kurt Philip Behm

You brought me

thunder

I brought you

hail

To drown

within the storm

You coursed

inclement

I watched

you fall

Beclouded

and forlorn

Our vow

asunder

All hope

curtailed

In torrents

of lament

As lightning

 struck

Our tryst

on fire

To burn

— in loves regret

There is division and end in this poem of sadness. Well written Kurt

I had visions of Liz Taylor and Richard Burton in a drunken rage while writing this.

That is quite a picture Kurt I can see it plainly after you mentioned it

Kurt, this carries a charged, storm-driven intensity…like two forces meant to meet but bound to clash. That lightning striking the tryst stays with me…one moment that ignites everything and ends it all at once. I’ve felt that kind of connection too, where it burns bright and breaks just as fast. This lands as vivid, tight, and full of tension. Powerful write. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thanks TR, the comet is always brightest just before burnout.
