Infidel

Fränz Müller

I pay my taxes, mow my lawn

say my prayers from dusk till dawn

keep my language civil, clean

and yet they claim that I’m obscene!

Adam, Eve when the world began

were naked and yet without sin;

and yet, we’re told, from days of old

that this is where the fall’d begin!

Apostle Peter, fishing nude

was not by the Master criticised

Ezekiel, prophesying naked

called for penance that was prized.

And yet, when I am naked, free

a sinning outcast ‘s what they claim;

but I’ll grin and bare it, every day

nude and proud and without shame!
