The meaning of a mirror

marissa

I needed to look myself in the mirror

To see any kind of remorse

I needed to shout at myself in the mirror

To hear any kind of response

I needed to watch myself in the mirror

Whispering into the above

I needed to kiss myself in the mirror

To feel any kind of love

I needed to break my fist in the mirror

To remind myself that i bleed

I needed to see the rays in the mirror

To know the sun’s all i need

I needed to show my face in the mirror

To take care of my rosy cheeks

I needed to get myself a new mirror

And give my other to the antiques

It is so true that what one wants done one must do themselves the clever twist comes at the end of this poem in the use of antique

Marissa, I’ve felt that kind of internal push before…where you’re trying to get something out of yourself that just won’t come easy. That back-and-forth comes through clearly here. And yes, mirrors do. Strong piece, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
