This time......everything changes.

Friendship

This time......everything changes.

There is a click within the clockwork of the soul,
A gear that finally catches, a tooth that bites,
Not the shallow breath of a passing whim,
But the tectonic shift of internal plates.
We have stood at this threshold a thousand times,
Trading old ghosts for new shadows,
Watching the same sun rise over the same ruins—
But the air has grown sharp with a different cold.

The maps we drew are curling at the edges,
Ink turning to vapor, landmarks sinking into silt.
It is not a renovation of the old house,
But a graceful fire in the foundation.
The metaphors we used to soften the blow—
The "turning leaves," the "changing tides"—
They are too gentle for this sudden anatomy,
For the way the marrow begins to rewrite its code.

This is the end of the rehearsal.
The script has bled white in the pouring rain,
And the stage beneath our feet is no longer wood,
But the humming, terrifying vibrance of the void.
We are shedding the skin we thought was our own,
The heavy, salt-stained coat of our history,
Leaving it crumpled on a shore we will never revisit.

There is no "back" to go to.
The bridge has not only burned; it has vanished.
The compass needle has snapped its spine,
Free now to point toward a star that hasn’t been named.
Whatever we were is a story told by a stranger.
Whatever we are is a breath held in the dark.

Listen—
The silence is no longer a hollow space,
It is the sound of the world reconfiguring.
The pulse is new. The light is lean.
This time…
Everything changes.

My friend, this carries a real sense of crossing over…not just change, but something final and irreversible. That idea of the bridge being gone entirely stayed with me…no return, no fallback. I’ve felt that kind of shift too, where everything is suddenly different. This lands as certain, grounded, and powerful. Strong write. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
