Our Sanctuaries

gray0328

silence wraps itself gently around

the chaos we carry every day

it is a balm for the aching

a space where we

lay down our swords

and finally hear

solitude waits for us like an old friend

arms wide but never demanding

it reminds us

we are enough

without the noise of others

stillness teaches us

the language of the earth

slow, deliberate, patient

it moves nothing

yet shifts everything

simplicity strips us bare

until all that is left

is what truly matters

we are lighter here

we are freer here

these sanctuaries

have always lived within us

waiting to be found again.
